Description

Globular pot with everted rim, wide mouth and flat base. Decorated with six horizontal parallel grooves around the neck followed by two rows of stamps and a further four horizontal grooves. Below this are four-line pendant triangles containing stamps. Three types of stamp used. Half of pot missing, two sherds detached but present.

Description (CMS Description)
Globular urn. Wide mouth. Flattened base. Band of stamp design between parallel grooves at the shoulder. Chevron and stamp design below shoulder. Black ware. Anglian type; Complete. 'Reconstructed using ?plaster of paris to line the vessel and hold it together. Unfortuanately some sherds have become detached (around a quarter of the total) & while 2 are present the rest are missing. J. Somerville 26/3/2001.'
