Part of a shoe or knee buckle of cast copper alloy, possibly bronze. Loop frame is oval shaped, with bevelled sides and small raised points in the inside centre of each long side. Separate spindle bar and pin are missing.

The period field of this record previously read 'Medieval'. However, this type of buckle is similar to shoe and knee buckles dating to the Jacobean period (c. 1660-1700, Post Medieval).
