Description

Carved wooden head of a bishop from a church roof. The bishop's mitre is carved with floral motifs on either side of a central band. Green, red, and yellow paint remains. There is carved foliation on either side of the face, partially broken off on the left. On the back, there is a central groove with one metal loop remaining for suspension, and one metal nail at the top, two other large holes, and one smaller drilled hole at the top. There are woodworm holes in the surface.
