Context (CMS Context)
There has been past confusion about the correct idno of this object. Despite a label giving its idno as '1909.25' (see above) it was erroneously marked '1905.25'. Its typed catalogue card was headed '1905.25' but the earlier, handwritten card was headed '?1905.25'. However, the Accession Register for 1905.25 refers to an Anglo Saxon buckle. The 1909 Accession Register is, quite frankly, a mess but this object is clearly part of the sequence of flint artefacts from Mildenhall. Therefore, the object has been re-marked, the CMS entry and the catalogue card have all been changed to reflect the correct idno of 1909.25.
