Context (Found together / assemblage)
Grave 18 was a double grave, Wilson notes that both skeletons were male. The upper burial had been crushed by the bulldozer; there were no associated finds. The lower male was buried with a buckle by the right side of his pelvis, underneath which was a preserved piece of cloth. Under his left arm and on his ribs was a knife. (p. 36)

The initial excavation of the Anglo-Saxon cemetery was carried out in the early months of 1952 by the Cambridge Archaeological Field Club under the direction of the Hon. R.W.H. Erskine and D.M. Wilson. Its discovery was reported by Mr G.O. Vinter, MA, in the autumn of 1951.
