Description

A spherical crotal bell of cast copper alloy. The bell has: a rectangular loop with an oval hole; a circular sound hole on either side of the top half; a pronounced ridge around the centre; a slot across the bottom with a circular hole at each end; a globular iron pea inside. Both halves of the sphere have incised decoration, consisting of double-outlined drop-shapes or petals. On one side of the slot is an embossed hammer symbol, consisting of a hammer within a shield.
