Description

Rounded rug of Ely ware. Unevenly clubbed everted rim with pinched spout; signs of turntable finishing on the rim and neck. Square rod-sectioned handle with irregular stabbing marks, poorly luted onto the body. A thin olive green glaze on the upper half of the body and lower part of the neck. Sagging base.

Paul Spoerry: 'slightly calcareous red-brown fabric with a dark grey core. The square rod-sectioned handle is poorly luted-on to the body, which has signs of turntable finishing on the neck and rim.
