Description (Physical description)
T-shaped iron axehead of a type sometimes termed 'horned'.
Event Date 22/07/2014

Context (Amendments / updates)
Fox describes the axe as 'a two-horned axhead of a type occuring in Hanover and France as well as this country' and dates it as Anglo-Saxon. This record gives the period as Medieval but whether this was through subsequent research is unclear, therefore Anglo-Saxon has been added to the Period field. Further research is needed to finalise its date.
