Stone axe, possibly made of basalt, with a ground surface. Elongated trapezoid shape, with a curved, convex cutting edge and a squared butt. Biconvex in cross section. The stone has randomly oriented fissures across both sides.

This object is marked with two accession numbers: 1899.14 and 1898.612. The object was accessioned on 25th January 1899, and entered into the accession register as 1899.14. However, a note added to the accession register reads: '(1899) [but included in the 1898 list]'. The accession numbers were consequently amended on 23/01/1980, with 1899.14 being changed to 1898.612.
