Description (Physical description)
Stone adze, possibly made of grey to black coloured chert with a partially polished surface. Elongated form, widening towards the cutting edge, with a trapezoid cross section, a curved cutting edge with asymmetric bevels, and a squared butt.

This object is marked with two accession numbers: 1899.12 and 1898.610. The object was accessioned on 25th January 1899, and entered into the accession register as 1899.12. However, a note added to the accession register reads: '(1899) [but included in the 1898 list]'. The accession numbers were consequently amended on 23/01/1980, with 1899.12 being changed to 1898.610. The accession number and MAA number fields have been updated accordingly.
