Stone axe, possibly made of chert, with a micaceous, yellow coloured sandy surface. Triangular in shape, with a curved cutting edge and rounded butt. Pointed oval shaped cross section.

This object is marked with two accession numbers: 1899.10 and 1898.608. The object was accessioned on 25th January 1899, and entered into the accession register as 1899.10. However, a note added to the accession register reads: '(1899) [but included in the 1898 list]'. The accession numbers were consequently amended on 23/01/1980, with 1899.10 being changed to 1898.608. The accession number and MAA number fields have been updated accordingly.
