Description

Copper alloy mounts from a stave-built wooden bucket; the top section of one panel of wooden staves survives. The staves are supported by two flat sheet copper alloy hoops decorated with repoussé dot ornament; there are three surviving copper alloy uprights with repoussé dot ornament, each overlapping the rim which is formed of a separate U-shaped piece of copper alloy sheet with extends to form a broad upper hoop; reinforced with riveted rim clips. The copper alloy handle survives, crescentic and decorated with circular punchmarks; looped through two of the uprights. Affixed to perspex.

Description (Physical description)
Bronze bound wooden bucket. Most of the wood and the bottom have gone. 3 bands of bronze encircle the bucket, the top one much broader than the others. 4 upright supports with repousse dot ornament. Plain bronze handle of flat section. Repousse dots round top band. 5 strips of bronze have overlapped the rim and been riveted through wood to strengthen it.
