Description
Cast copper alloy cruciform brooch. Integral, half round top knob and detached half round side knobs, both present; the top knob is surmounted by an animal head. Central panel decorated with two central concentric circles and two longitudinal rows of punchmarks along both outer edges; undecorated flared wings, one with surface removed. Arched bow with a central longitudinal ridge and rectangular section areas at the top and bottom of the bow, decorated with transverse lines. The flat panel is decorated concentric circles and punchmarks. The horse head foot has scroll nostrils and a flared lip terminal, each decorated with central concentric circles. Corroded iron pin present in pin bar lug, catch plate half missing.

Large cruciform brooch with floated head knob and detached side knobs. Head knob cast in one with brooch. Sides knob fixed with extension through spring bar. Horse head has exaggerated nostrils and somewhat crescentic extension beyond. Iron Pin in place. Scollop engraving outline edge of head plate. Ring and dot pattern on head panel and below bow; Horse Head
