Description

Cast copper alloy, square headed small long brooch. Rectangular headplate with square central panel and rectangular wings, decorated with circular punchmarks along the outer edges. High-ached bow with rectangular section areas at top and bottom. Down drooping bird head lappets. Foot decorated with transverse grooved lines, flaring to a triangular terminal with circular punch marks and moulded ridge at the base. On reverse, catchplate and pin bar lug present. Pitted surface.

Description (Physical description)
One of a pair of small long brooch of square headed (panelled) type. Expanded foot. Down drooping bird head lappets. There is a moulded ridge across base of foot. Iron pins missing. Engraved along edge of head plate and foot with circlets.
