Context (Amendments / updates)
At an unknown date this object became disassociated with its original accession number (1913.330) and was re-accessioned as Z 19728. Although recorded as Medieval in the 1913 Accession Register and Annual Report, when it was reaccessioned as Z 19728 it was catalogued as Anglo Saxon. Close parallels to this object can be found on the Portable Antiquities Scheme, including NARC-866571, NLM-E364ES and SUSS-2C3DBA, which are all dated as Medieval. The Period field has been updated to include Medieval and make Anglo Saxon tentative.

Context (Analysis)
Neither the Accession Register entries for 1913.330 or Z 19728 give details of a findspot, although subsequently the catalogue record was updated to tentatively suggest Hooper's Field (Barrington B). However, if this strap end is indeed Medieval, then it is not likely to come from either Anglo Saxon cemetery, although it may have been found in the vicinity.
