Cast copper alloy looped strap fitting, probably from a swivel, composed of a D-shaped loop and a faceted attachment with projecting stud. The loop terminates in animal heads biting on the bar through which the attachment is fitted.

Context (Analysis)
This object bears a strong resemblance to Medieval swivels in the Portable Antiquities Scheme, which lists them as a component of strap fittings possibly as links on dog leashes, harness fittings, or hawk's leashes. For parallels, see SF-CF7C46, PUBLIC-6DBCC5 and SF-8C64EA. The Period and Description has been updated accordingly.
