Description

Copper alloy shield-shaped horse harness pendant, bearing inlayed white enamel (argent) design of a moth or butterfly with outstretched wings. Cast suspension loop on centre top. Moth’s forewing decorated with three small spots arranged in a triangle; hind wing is similar, decorated with a single spot. Heraldic design described as ‘Argent Butterfly volant en aiere on field Or’; linked with the Audley family.
