Description

Signet finger ring made of gold, with an oval bezel, slightly flared shoulders and hoop with a flat, rectangular cross-section. The bezel is engraved with a shield of arms with a rampant lion and surmounted by a helmet and crest of a bird, possibly a griffin, with mantling surrounding the shield. A ropework groove border surrounds the central design. On the back of the bezel is an inscribed makers mark, 'E'.
