Description
Copper alloy crucifix with separated figure of Jesus riveted to the cross. Christ shown crowned, with slender arms and body, almost precisely frontal; head slightly inclined to His right. Two rivets, one on each hand; two further rivets on feet, one of which is broken off and missing. Reverse of the cross is decorated with incised lines and ‘IHS’ in the centre. Traces of gilding present on both sides, especially around the figure.
