Accession No
1977.852
Description
Sherds of three almost complete lids and one base sherd. The two bigger lids are of hard stoneware, one with brown glaze on the outside; both with an integral splayed knob and a carinated profile with acute-angled lips. The smaller lid is of hard light buff fabric with traces of brownish glaze on the outside; the knob is broken off and missing, the lid itself very thick and almost flat, the acute-angled sides form a very low lip. The base sherd of stoneware is of a small biconical bowl with a frilled footring and horizontal combing on the shoulder. Stoneware lids partly discoloured and misshaped, possibly due to misfiring.
