Context (Found together / assemblage)
The CAS Register associates this object with 1883.170 but it is unclear whether 'found in a tumulus' applies to both objects or just to 1883.170. Nevertheless, they are best regarded as a possible set of grave goods

Context (Analysis)
On Friday 11th November 2022 Stuart Needham analysed this dagger. He noted: 'This [the CAS museum accession register] attributes no 169 to 'Litlington, Cambs' (the question mark only comes in the later register [the BCR accession register]) which is reasonable since it is a classic Type Butterwick (Gerloff) or Series 2A (my classification) bronze dagger of the first stage of the EBA, c. 2150-2000 BC'.
This date range has been added to the Period field which had previously stated Early Bronze Age only.
