C.Fox Index; Found: It was found south-west of new waterworks, near to a skeleton about 2 1/2 feet below surface.
'Original entry in data base was for 1915.27 A. This is not the correct number (suspect an error in the transcription?)- it cannot be matched to any entry for 1915 except for the Blue Book number 1915.232. The object has actually been marked as 1915.72 A (and has a label recording the find spot above and the donor as Taylor). This is the Annual Report number. The correct number in the Accession Register is 1915.240 (Register 3, p.137), but there are two objects with that number for 1915 since two entries were made for 1915, one at the back of Register 3 and another set of entries in Register 4. All relevant numbers left in idno line. J.Somerville 4/9/2001.'

This arrowhead has been the subject of quite a lot of confusion over its accession number. The 1915 accessions were generally troublesome, and this arrowhead was entered in two accession registers: Accession Register 3 assigns it the number 1915.240, whilst the Blue Book register assigns it 1915.232. The former number (1915.240), however, was given to another object in Accession Register 4. The 1915.240 entry in Accession Register 3 gave the incorrect Annual Report number as 1915.72 A, and it was this number that was marked on the arrowhead. This confusion may have stemmed from the fact that actual AR 1915.72 is also an arrowhead; however, so far, no Annual Report entry has been identified for this arrowhead. To attempt to clarify the idno of this object, the following actions have been taken: as the only unique idno, 1915.232 should be regarded as the main accession number, whilst the suffix /Record 2 has been added to 1915.240 to reflect that two separate objects were assigned this idno. AR 1915.72 A has been removed from the Idno field. The arrowhead has now been marked with its primary idno (1915.232).
