Context (Analysis)
On 11 December 2015, Dr Sacha Jones from the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research identified this handaxe as from the Lower Palaeolithic and dating to roughly 500,000 to 200,000 years ago. The Period field has therefore been updated from 'Palaeolithic' to 'Lower Palaeollithic' accordingly.
