Context (CMS Context)
The cultures are mixed, there being Smithfield and possibly an earlier (?Mousterian) industry present. Note that the industry seems to be in situ in a reddish coloured deposit, probably laid down by the stream. Many of the tools however have been washed out and can be found on the surface of the ground. South African material from one site can be found both on the South African shelves and in the South African drawers; Found: From Eliott' s Farm (Rockwood) near Queenstown, a few miles beyond the dam. The site is behind the homestead in a small kloof down which flows a little stream. To the left, on the hill side under large boulders are a number of poorly painted sites
