Context (Analysis)
Examination of the item[s] by Teresa Briscoe in August 1988:
One of two fragments, which originally bore two old Victorian ink labels; these became detached over the years, and so it was impossible to ascertain which label(s) belonged to which fragment(s). The labels gave as provenance ' Gt. Wilbraham' and ' Litchfield, Hants'.
Z 43712 A "has Lackford stamps & is thus likely to be Gt. Wilbraham"

Context (Analysis)
Analysis by Sarah-Jane Harknett: 'Two large pieces of pottery found, both have stamped decoration, and bosses. Neither of them is marked, but one bears two labels, one of which reads: "Litchfield" and the other "Gt Wilbraham Cambs.shire". It is probable that these two sherds belong to this Accession Number.'
