The card has the following entry: "Evidently one of a set of 3 like that from R. William [sic - probably Witham], see B.M. Anglo-Saxon Guide, Pl. IX. However probably later than the William [sic - probably Witham] specimens, but there are similar pin-heads in the museum from Cambridge and Hauxton [Z 14965]"

Context (Amendments / updates)
It is possible that this object lost its association to 1927.697 and was reaccessioned as Z 14968. If they are the same object, then it seems that the 'about 1" chain' is no longer extant. Z 14968 has been tentatively added to the MAA Nos field, but the records have not been amalgamated until more research has been done.
