Description

A gilt copper alloy disc with cast pattern. A cross divides the disc into four panels, two with round scroll motifs and two with square scroll motifs. Central circle with a perforation at the centre, and three perforation holes around the edge near three prongs of the cross, possibly a fourth perforation which has broken through. Some loss from the edge and centre of the disc. Possibly the central pin-head from a set of linked pins or a disc brooch.

Fox (1923) and Lethbridge (1938) identify this as the central pin-head of a group of three linked pins. It may be that 1899.109 B and C are the other two pin heads, but this needs study.
