This is possibly the lock donated to the Cambridge Antiquarian Society by an unnamed donor 1849-1850. This is based on the date of 16th century given in the Report and also found on the label. The 1850 Report reads: 'A large and curious Lock, of the 16th century; taken from an old chest.' If this is indeed that lock, then it is one more reason to believe it is a Post-Medieval lock, not Anglo Saxon.
