Context (Amendments / updates)
Since at least 1984, but probably much earlier, the bracelet from Shepherd's Fen (1929.186) was incorrectly identified as being from Newmarket Road and the bracelet from Newmarket Road (1924.744) was incorrectly identified as being from Shepherd's Fen. The Shepherd's Fen bracelet was erroneously displayed in the Clarke Gallery archaeology display from 1984-2010 as being from Newmarket Road. The Newmarket Road bracelet was incorrectly mounted on perspex with a handwritten display label reading 'Bracelet, Shepherd's Fen, Nr. Prickwillow'. The illustration of the Shepherd's Fen bracelet in PCAS, as well as the fact that the Newmarket Road bracelet is marked with its correct idno, has allowed for this mix-up to be rectified and the records have been modified accordingly.
