Context (CMS Context)
Almost certainly the 'celt' donated to the Cambridge Antiquarian Society in 1845-1846 by the Rev. S. Banks, P.C. of Haddenham. In the 1846 CAS Report, it is described as 'found at Aldreth High Bridge, in the Parish of Haddenham, the point where Hereward, the Saxon, defended the Isle of Ely for seven years against the Normans.' The Rev. Banks has therefore been added to the Source field.
