Context (Analysis)
This axe was sampled as part of the Council for British Archaeology's Sub-Committee for Implement Petrology, at an unknown date. The subsequent analysis identified the stone as Group I, uralitized gabbro, epidiorite or greenstone, from Mount's Bay area, near Penzance, Cornwall. See report in the archive (GO1/2/2).
