Context (CMS Context)
This vase is listed in the 1915 Annual Report as number 223 A and was then accessioned into the Museum's catalogue as both 1916.26 A and 1915.346 A. Unfortunately, the accession registers for 1915 and 1916 were subject to a great deal of crossing out and re-numbering, leading to much confusion and apparently two separate entries for this object. It is probably for this reason that the vase was re-numbered 'Z 36238' and this should be treated as its main number. The previous, apparently erroneous, numbers, including the Annual Report number, have been added to the MAA Num field and removed from the Idno field to avoid confusion.
