Description
Document - Two bound vols. of watercolours by Constance F. Gordon Cumming (1) Z 4151:- labelled "Fijian pottery" containing 58 studies of pottery and two pages from Art Journal 1881, containing note by C.F. Gordon Cumming on Fijian pottery. Ms. note stuck inside front cover describing manufacture of pots. 1 landscape as frontispiece, 8 landscapes at end. (2) Z 4152:- labelled "Fijian Manufactures". Note on frontispiece describes pictures as having been painted 1876-77. Inside front cover is list of travel books by C.F. Gordon Cumming, 1904. containing c 70 paintings of Fijian ornaments, weapons, wooden bowls, pottery, canoes, etc. Also photos of the Gordon family, of government buildings, of European inhabitants, and of Fijians. Also five Fijian Treasury notes Acc Z 4151 & Z 4152. Transferred to Photographic Collection, and re-numbered A.170.GCUM and A.169.GCUM, respectively.
