Description (CMS Description)
The photocopy transcript dates to 1840 and reads: 'The stalls above mentioned were presented by Mr Cory to the University, as an interesting remnant of those times; and are preserved in the Museum.' This presumably refers to the Fitzwilliam Museum (founded 1816) or maybe the Cambridge Antiquarian Committee).
Unknown date of transfer to MAA
Seat is is featured in a watercolour, dated 1976, 'Miles Coverdale's Seat from Cory House' held in the Folk Museum (Museum of Cambridge)
The wooden, folded seat is stored at Shorts, next to the Solomons canoe, but is yet un-acesssioned, noted only as 'Unid 137378.
To be given a temporary number.
