Context (CMS Context)
Dr John Pickles found two references to what is probably this notebook in the Cambridge Antiquarian Society council minutes. One (Vol. VI, p. 485, 24 May 1937) notes that the notebook was given to the CAS library by Dr William Palmer, and that Mr Percival Westell [first curator of the Letchworth Museum] had requested, and was denied, permission to borrow it. A second reference (Vol. VII p. 1, 11 October 1937) noted that a copy had been made for Mr Westell. If this is indeed the same notebook referred to in the CAS council minutes, it was transferred to MAA from CAS at an unknown date after 1937. 25/3/2015 I.Gunn
