Description
A envelope containing an old label was found with this object (D 1912.65 B). Written on the envelope, probably in von Hügel's hand: 'This have [sic] been given by Ld. Denbigh but cannot possibly be part of Pennant a[t] least most unlikely. Label.' The label itself is on blue paper and reads: 'Three thousand of these apparently fashioned flint stone all packed together were found 2 years ago 20 feet below the surface and under a [unclear] of gravel at St. Acheul Nr Amiens in France. The French Archaeological Soc.y determined that they come [from] a dépot of Antideluvian weapons or tools.'
