Context (Acquisition Details)
The Fitzwilliam Museum's allocation from Mallowan's excavations were found in the British Museum in 1966, where they had apparently remained instead of being sent to Cambridge. They were then sent on to the Fitzwilliam, who selected pieces 'for eventual display'; the remainder of their allocation was then transferred to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in 1967 with the approval of the Syndicate's authority.
