Correspondence, notes, and drafts relating to Roslyn and Axel Poignant's trips to Raiatea, Tahiti, and Fiji, 1969.

1. Three page partial draft article with manuscript annotations relating to the impact of colonialism on Raiatea. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

2. Ten pages of typed and manuscript notes relating to plans for photographs for the Poignants' children's book Children of Oropiro (1976).

3. Four pages of manuscript fieldnotes dated 5th March [1969], relating to Raiatea. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

4. One page partial draft manuscript letter from Roslyn and Axel Poignant to Turo Taihotaata, Raiatea. Undated, in French. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

5. Fourteen manuscript pages describing plans for the Poignants' children's book Children of Oropiro (1976) in French.

6. One page typed draft letter from Axel and Roslyn Poignant to Turo Taihotaata, Raiatea dated December 1976, referring to the publication of Children of Oropiro. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

7. Two typed pages of notes relating to making medicine in Raiatea. Includes a pressed leaf. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

8. Seven pages of manuscript notes relating to the house where Roslyn and Axel Poignant stayed with Camille and Edward Dodd in Raiatea, maps of the village, and family trees relating to people they met there. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

9. Nine pages of manuscript notes relating to people that Axel and Roslyn Poignant met in Raiatea and Tahitian vocabulary.

10. A map of Tahiti and other islands of French Polynesia with manuscript annotations. Found in plastic sleeve with adhered label reading 'scanned'.

11. Five pages of manuscript notes possibly relating to Fiji? Including sketches.

12. Eight pages of manuscript notes relating to plans for the story of Children of Oropiro.

13. One printed page showing lists of publications from Sociéte des Océanistes.

14. One page of typescript titled 'Rules for Konane' relating to the Hawai'ian game.

15. One partially completed New Zealand post office form 'Inquiry for missing postal article' dated 26th February 1969.

16. Three newspaper clippings with manuscript annotations relating to the 1953 South Pacific Conference and a boat accident at Nauru in 1969.

17. Photocopied page from an unidentified book relating to the concept of tapu.

18. A printed edition of a publication for schools: Prospect: The Proper Study. Unit 3 Oneself and Unit 4 Ourselves. BBC Radio Spring 1972, which includes a print of one of Axel Poignant’s photographs (p.9).
