Context (Acquisition Details)
Donated by Rodney Elner's daughter, Dizzy Gibbs. The pots referred to in the letter were discovered by her grandfather, Leslie Elner, in central Cambridge and remained in the family until she donated them to MAA in 2023, along with this letter. In a later hand on the letter is written a name, possibly Tim Rennolds which might be an incorrect spelling of Tim Reynolds, who was once the County Archaeologist for Cambridge. It is not clear if that is who wrote the letter or a further suggestion of a contact.
