Envelope labelled, in Baron Anatole von Hügel's handwriting, 'Cissy Gave at Downing. Old German post road notes'. On the reverse of envelope, also in von Hügel's handwriting are notes, much edited, about the problem of storage in the Old Museum and needs of the New Museum. St Catherine's College temporarily provided storage room. Inside envelope is a postcard addressed to von Hügel from "Johnnie" with a German woman in traditional dress on the front. Also inside the letter are printed reproductions of German post road notes from 1791.
