Description

Two hand-written letters from Walter William Skeat to Baron Anatole von Hügel, dated 1 April 1897 and 6 April 1897. Walter Skeat (Senior, 1835 - 1912), father of Walter Skeat (Junior, 1866 - 1954), wrote to offer the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology his son's Malay ethnographic collection in return for the cost of posting it from Selangor, Malaysia to Cambridge. The Baron's reply in the affirmative can be found in his bound collection of letters, Journal 8, page 1 and page 218.
