Correspondance from Vance Haynes, University of Arizona, Department of Anthropology, to Eleanor Kennedy Shaw in 1982 regarding Haynes' discovery of a LRDG Chevrolet in the Western Desert of Egypt. This vehicle was associated with her husband, W.B. Kennedy Shaw's patrol during World War II. Also enclosed is a letter from Haynes to Major General David Lloyd-Owen regarding this vehicle, a photograph of the LRDG, and an article from Science Magazine(13 August 1982, Vol. 217, No 4560) entitled 'Great Sand Sea and Selima Sand Sheet, Eastern Sahara: Geochronology of Desertification' by Vance Haynes.
