Article analyzes the changes in the winter house as part of an attempt to grasp the Thule culture in Greenland, and its development into subsequent cultures (including the Angmagssalik). This is intended to mirror similar work on the harpoon head as an indicator of cultural changes in this area. Also discusses the evolution of the harpoon head, beginning with Therkel Mathiassen's breakdown of the various types.
