Historical background to the Bernard Collection at CUMAA and Joseph Bernard himself.
a) Photocopy picture of Joseph Bernard;
b) Photocopies of letters from Joseph Bernard to Father Higston [spelt Hingston in letters](primarily) and Father Devine (once) at Loyola college from 1924 to 1959.
c) Short biography of Joseph Bernard, presumably written by Father Higston but not signed.
d) Correspondence between Nancy Marrelli, Archives Coordinator at Concordia University, and Susan Moogk in 1984. Susan Moogk was working on the Bernard Collection at Cambridge, and Marrelli sent her the above archival information for her research.

Washburn of the Arctic Institute of Canada; and between the Rector, Layola College and T.T. Paterson and between Susan Moogk and Nancy Marrelii archive co-ordinator Concordia University.

Appendix A-2- Copy of typed and annotated ‘1920s catalogue of the Bernard Arctic collection at Layola College, Montreal’

Appendix C- ‘Artefacts, by catalogue number, that were found tagged or tied in bundles in 1982, indicative that they were part of the Bernard Arctic Collection’. Objects all Z’ed indicating their presence in MAA.

Appendix D- ‘Nomenclature/ the terms used in cataloguing were those used by Diamond Jenness in the Report of the Canadian Arctic Expedition, Vol. XVI. 1946’
With annotated sketch of arrow and an ulu.

Appendix E- ‘Catalogue numbers of artefacts by film and negative frame no.’

Also found with the Appedices in the file was a copy of ‘Captain Jos. Bernard’s description & listing of his Collection of Eskimo Curios & Antiques- (superseded July 1947, by re-arranging and labelling by Dr. Paterson of Cambridge University, England, [unclear signature, ?N.R.B]'
