Description

Lubugo. A long rectangular length of fine decorated barkcloth, red-brown in colour, constructed of three panels with five sewn patches and sewn areas using light-coloured fibre. Upon the front are two squares of black pigmented decoration. One square contains bands of crescent and zig-zag markings within line and dot filled borders. The other square is sectioned into four triangles, each filled with dot and crescent markings within a five-line border. Described by the Collector as being used as currency with cowries and blue beads.
