Small conical rattle with a double-looped handle. The base of the rattle is a circle of gourd, on top of which a cone of basketry has been woven. The handle is formed of several strips of cane wrapped and lopped back on both sides to form a heart-shaped terminal. There is red pigment on the cone and base and some ?seeds inside which rattle when shaken.

Context (Field collection)
A rattle very similar to this one is shown in Thomas' field photograph, P.31031.NWT, but labelled with the Thomas collection number 282. Thomas' 2nd Catalogue lists 282 as a rattle, Z 14137, which is currently missing. A Thomas number was not found on this object, so it is possible that Thomas 207 and Thomas 282 are the same rattle with a duplicate catalogue number.
