Description (CMS Description)
Throwing club of dark wood, I ula tavatava or i ula wase. Flanged head: large flanges on the centre, each of them carved with a circular circle. Smaller flanges above and below the main flanges. At the top, the head is carved into a convex protrusion. Some dents and cavities on the head, some of them seem to have been filled in the past. The handle is circular in section and flared towards the butt. On one side, the upper part of the handle is carved with many burnt dots. The lower part of the handle is carved with tavatava patterns. Concave butt pierced with an oblique hole (now broken).
