Description
Model of a tent (.1) constructed of sticks inserted into a blue painted wooden board and covered with a loosely woven brown-beige cloth pinned into position with short wooden pins. The tent has a high peak with cloth rolled up to form an entrance, is carpeted with lace-trimmed red cloth, and has a metal brazier nailed in the centre with a pot hanger positioned over the top. Associated with the tent are three pillows (.2-4); one of striped beige and peach ticking, one trimmed with lace and one blue with blue and peach pattern. Four rectangles of cloth (.5-8) are also associated; three of embroidered cotton edged with wide lace, one with printed floral pattern and purple edging.

Catalogue card notes: Collected by Ivor H.N Evans in 1931. Made for the Evans in 1931 by a gypsy woman, Mrs Green (born Lee) at Little Sandhurst, on the borders of Hampshire and Berkshire. Cf. 1931.896.

There are four pieces of cloth and three cushions. Three of the pieces of cloth are edged with lace and one with a floral pattern. There is also one piece of cloth inside the tent. There is a metal object placed inside the tent and the overall structure is secured using wooden pins.
