Description (Inscription)
Translation of inscription: 'The Collyrium of Lucius Julius Salutaris, to be applied with a fine brush, for inflamation of the eyes'
First part of inscription MARINI CAES can be expanded to marini caes(arianum), which translates as 'the Collyrium according to the recipe of Marinus'.
The remaining inscription can be expanded to L(ucii) Jul(ii) Salutaris penicillum ad lippitud(inem).
