Notes relating to Axel Poignant's photographs of Sicily, 1957 - 1958.

1. A two page typescript index, with manuscript annotations in ink, of photographs with short descriptions, mostly place names, relating to rolls of film.

2. Brief manuscript notes relating to the locations of the Poignants' prints from Sicily written on the reverse of a torn postcard showing the Elephant Fountain in Catania, Sicily.

3. A torn typescript label describing one of the Poignants' photographic prints of a view from a hill in Calatafimi.

Context (Found together / assemblage)
The items in this record were found alongside some of the Poignants' photographs of Sicily. The index was found in a folder of negatives now numbered C1023/2 (photographs container number) and the other notes in a folder of prints now numbered C1036/ as part of the Poignant bequest, 2021.

This record was made as part of the Poignant Project (2022 - 2023) to catalogue and digitise around 17,500 photographs and associated archives which came into the care of MAA as the Poignant bequest in 2021.
